Beauty of Soil
Soil is organic matter bound to sand, silt, and clay. Organic matter makes soil beautiful.
Organic matter and soil biology create soil aggregates - pellets - in soils. Aggregates help create soil structure or the distribution of open (pore) and closed (solid-filled) space. Soil structure:

Aggregates are visible on roots. In some cases the roots are so fine, it looks like they suspended in space. The shapes of aggregates are not completely round or smooth because sand, silt, and clay particles and organic matter are inside them. This irregular shape makes the pore space between them ideal for water and air movement.
